Chasing Dreams

A short game for Touhou Fan Game Jam 8.

In which repetitive dreams end up an escape from monotonous reality.

Arrow keys or WASD to move.

Pressing Space (or J) will give you invincibility for a brief moment, which replenishes after about a second. The same key is also used for advancing monologues.

Shift (or K) will activate focus mode. Not that it's very useful here...

Your enemies will disappear if you get close enough to them. They cannot hurt you from up close.

Apologies if an experienced shooter player finds this game too easy. I balanced it for me, and I'm not very good. (Update: Apparently this game is way harder than I thought. Whoops.)

There are 2 versions: The one using the original, very limited color palette, and one with a higher contrast palette. Honestly, I recommend the higher contrast version.
